Blakely has been named vice president, eBusiness and Baugh Supply Chain Cooperative (BSCC BSCC Bishop State Community College (Alabama) BSCC Bedford Senior Citizens Center BSCC Broadcast Stream Client Connector ) supplier services effective immediately. Mr. Blakely, currently assistant vice president, eBusiness, will continue administering SYSCO's ongoing eBusiness initiatives. He will also assume added responsibility for Baugh Supply Chain administration services and supplier integration activities that will directly support the company's national supply chain initiative. Lankford, president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO) The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president. of SYSCO, said Mr. Blakely, 43, began his 20-year SYSCO career in 1983 as assistant controller of its procurement organization in Kansas City, Mo., and was named controller the following year. In 1987 he transferred to the corporate headquarters as an internal auditor for the operations review department and progressed to a variety of management positions before being named director of that department in 1992. Mr. Blakely transferred to the information services department The Information Services Department (ISD) (Traditional Chinese: 政府新聞處; Simplified Chinese: 政府新闻处 in the fall of 1992 as a senior director and participated in the design and rollout of the SYSCO Uniform System (SUS), a company-wide upgrade of management information systems, and the SYSCO Warehouse Management System (SWMS), a warehouse and labor management application. Mr. Blakely was promoted to vice president of finance and chief financial officer of SYSCO's Palm Beach, Fa., operation in 1997 and later that year transferred to SYSCO's Nashville, Tenn., subsidiary to serve in the same capacity. He returned to the corporate office in 2000 when he was appointed to his current position.
