 beast" in an extraordinary outburst two weeks before he quits.

The PM said Labour had been too obsessed with trying to manipulate the media but said TV and newspapers had got worse during his 10-year reign.

Speaking to journalists in London, he said: "The fear of missing out means today's media, more than ever, hunts in a pack.

"In these modes, it is like a feral beast just tearing people and reputations to bits."

He said the relationship between politicians and the media must be fixed.
