Blackwell purchases Brandywine Press; launches psychiatry journal.

The new journal is targeted at international researchers on all major psychiatric disorder groups, including clinicians, primary health care workers, health planners, administrators and policy makers. Its mission is to create a forum that will enable researchers and clinicians with a special interest in their early phases to share ideas, experiences and data, Blackwell said.

The new journal will publish articles dealing with early recognition, diagnosis and treatment across the range of mental and substance use disorders, as well as "the epidemiological, biological, psychological and social mechanisms that influence the onset and early course of these disorders." It will also cover diagnostic issues, psychopathology psychopathology /psy·cho·pa·thol·o·gy/ (-pah-thol´ah-je)
