Blackmagic Design Announces its Manufacturing Facility is RoHS Compliant; All Blackmagic Design Products Are Now RoHS Compliant.

The manufacturing facility has been upgraded to meet the new environmental challenges stipulated under the new RoHS (Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances) 2002/95/EC, which was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union European Union (EU), name given since the ratification (Nov., 1993) of the Treaty of European Union, or Maastricht Treaty, to the

European Community
 (EU) and takes effect on July 1, 2006. The transition to RoHS compliant manufacturing requires not only upgrading production facilities but also securing the highest quality of lead-free components to maintain the integrity of products. This has been a project that's taken almost two years of work to ensure all supply chain partners are fully compliant with the RoHS directives. Blackmagic is committed to design and manufacturing processes that help protect the environment. Blackmagic will continually strive to meet the highest international environmental standards and requirements including RoHS directive for lead-free electronic manufacturing and procurement to protect human health and the environment.

Blackmagic's first fully RoHS-compliant product is the new Multibridge Pro, which is now shipping. Although all Blackmagic Design products shipped worldwide are now RoHS compliant, Blackmagic is also prepared to meet the new environmental standards imposed by California, which will take effect on January 1, 2007, using the EU RoHS directive as its guide. Additionally, Blackmagic is prepared to meet the new environmental standards undertaken by China that have similar restrictions to RoHS and are scheduled to take effect March 1, 2007.
