based in San Ramon, announced today that Vanstar Corporation has awarded the firm a follow-on contract for completing Vanstar's conversion project that will make their computer systems year 2000 compliant a. 1. In announcing the award of the new contract, BlackHawk President Jason Yi stated that an initial contract with Vanstar Corporation covered two phases of Vanstar's five-phase Year 2000 project: (1) an accurate, thorough accounting of the computers, applications, network infrastructure and purchased software at Vanstar, and an assessment of the effects of dates beyond 1999 on each system; and (2) to organize and plan the work of the required system conversion process. Yi added that BlackHawk consultants, in a team effort with key Vanstar technical and management personnel, had successfully achieved the first two phases.

Vanstar Corporation, a leading provider of PC network integration and consulting services, took early and prudent action to ensure the proper functioning of their business systems when processing data involving dates beyond 1999.

The issue being addressed by Vanstar Corporation is one with which most companies and government agencies throughout the world are being forced to confront. As the calendar approaches the year 2000, systems will more frequently break down because they cannot handle the "00" years properly, and some will not be able to handle "99".
