It is believed that Nelsen was furious with Diouf's performance in the Everton match and had accused Diouf of being "not interested" and "lazy." The pair also traded verbal insults before punching each other as stunned team-mates tried to separate the warring pair. "Ryan was absolutely furious with Diouf and accused him of being selfish and not working for the team.
