 Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable win over 10-man Peterborough at Ewood Park Ewood Park is a football stadium in Blackburn, Lancashire and the home of Blackburn Rovers football club. The stadium, which opened in 1890, is an all seater facility which holds 31,367 people and has a pitch size of 115 x 76 yards. .

Peterborough initially made life difficult as Chris Whelpdale Chris Whelpdale (born January 27, 1987) is a footballer, who can play as a winger midfield player.

He begun his career at Maldon Town, moving shortly to Billericay Town, though in 2007 he signed for League Two side Peterborough United, rejecting League One side Southend

Sam Allardyce made seven changes to the side beaten 5-0 at Chelsea, with goalkeeper Jason Brown and midfielder David Hoilett elevated to the first XI as they had been for the previous rounds, along with teenage defender Phil Jones.

Talk of swine flu in the Blackburn camp had dominated the build-up to the match, but the hosts looked anything but sluggish in the opening stages and went ahead after only three minutes.

Hoilett was brought down just outside the box and Pedersen stepped up to rifle the free-kick over Lewis and into the roof of the netand Rovers were on their way.
