Two new additions to the 'Tribes of Native America' series collaboratively compiled and co-edited by Marla Felkins Ruan & Linda Schmittroth for grades 2-4 provide 32 pages each of colorful photos and introductory information on Native American tribes, with each book offering a particular tribe tribe [Lat., tribus: the tripartite division of Romans into Latins, Sabines, and Etruscans], a social group bound by common ancestry and ties of consanguinity and affinity; a common language and territory; and characterized by a political and economic  focus. Abenaki (1567115748, $22.45) surveys the tribe which lived in Maine and Canada in the east, and in Vermont, New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E).  and Massachusetts in the west.
