Blackbaud Collects Thousands of Toys for Charleston-Area Children; Builds on strong employee-centered philanthropic culture.

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Blackbaud (Nasdaq: BLKB), the leading provider of software and related services designed specifically for nonprofit organizations, announced today a donation of thousands of toys to the U.S. Marine Corps annual Toys-for-Tots drive. The donation brings the total number of toys the company's employees have collected over the past four years to just over 13,500.

"Although I'm incredibly proud of the fact that we were able to make the largest Toys-for-Tots donation in the Lowcountry for the fourth year in a row, the size of the donation is only part of the story," said Robert J. Blackbaud's Toys-for-Tots drive has become an annual tradition, with each of the company's six divisions competing for the honor of donating the most toys. This year, the Finance and Administration division took top honors by collecting 16 toys per employee.

This donation comes on the heels of another annual company contribution. Every Thanksgiving, Blackbaud and its employees donate money to support a local crisis ministry and homeless shelter. This year's gift was 80 percent higher than last year, further demonstrating an ever-increasing dedication Blackbaud employees have to nonprofit organizations.

A Philanthropic Corporate Culture

In addition to the holiday donations, Blackbaud has numerous year-round initiatives that encourage employees to support nonprofits, including:

--An innovative Volunteer for Vacation program, which received the 2003 South Carolina Volunteerism Award, allows employees to earn extra vacation days by volunteering. Since 1997 when the program began, Blackbaud employees have volunteered more than 25,000 hours, earning more than 1,500 extra vacation days.

--An endowment fund at the Coastal Community Foundation, which receives regular donations from the company and individuals, allows a team of employees to directly participate in the grant-making process. Each year, an employee committee reviews proposals, conducts site visits and selects grantees who will receive contributions.
