) announced today that it will change its New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

The BlackRock 2001 Term Trust will continue to trade on the NYSE without interruption and will maintain the same investment managers, investment approach and investment objectives as before the symbol change. Once released, the symbol BLK will be reserved for possible use by BlackRock, Inc., the parent company to the Trust's investment advisor.

The BlackRock 2001 Term Trust is a diversified, actively managed closed-end fixed-income fund launched in August 1992 at a price of $10 per share. The Trust seeks to provide high current income and return $10 per share to shareholders on or about June 30, 2001.
