On April 24, 1998, Black Hawk Gaming purchased the other half of the Gilpin Hotel Casino that it did not previously own and on June 24, 1998, it opened its new casino, The Lodge Casino at Black Hawk. Combined, the two operations offer approximately 1300 slot machines, 30 table games, 4 restaurants, 50 hotel rooms and valet parking for 850 cars, and employs over 900 people.
