Black Country News: Tenants get home comforts; SANDWELL.


THE quality of life of tens of thousands of tenants and residents across the Sandwell Sandwell is a metropolitan borough in the West Midlands of England. It is made up of the Black Country towns of Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich.  borough borough: see city government; county.  is being vastly improved thanks to the Sandwell Decent Homes Partnership, which is celebrating an "excellent" year.

One of the largest organisations within the Government's wider Decent Homes programme, the Sandwell partnership sets out to deliver pounds 425 million worth of improvements to 30,000 homes across the borough.

Over the past year the partnership has marked a series of milestones - 50 per cent of Sandwell's homes are now classed as "decent," 8,000 properties have been improved and 6,600 new kitchens delivered.

Tenants and residents at the St Clements St Clements may be:
  • St. Clements, a municipality in Manitoba, Canada
  • St. Clements, a school in Victoria, Australia.
  • St Clement's, a street in Oxford, England
 and Wimberger blocks, the first to benefit from the partnership, said they were delighted with the results.

Tenant Victor Dangerfield said: "The partnership has given me a beautiful place to live. I can't thank the delivery team enough for the changes they have brought."
