CHRISTMAS shoppers in Walsall have been handed a festive fes·tive  
adj.
1. Of, relating to, or appropriate for a feast or festival.

2. Merry; joyous: a festive party.
 boost with council bosses opening a new stretch of road.

Highways officers have worked with contractors Norwest Holst and BT to allow the opening of road improvements at Pleck Road and Wolverhampton Road junction from this week. The move has increased lanes along the two roads into Walsall town centre from one to two.

The stretch of highway is part of the pounds 17 million package of improvements.

Coun Anthony Harris Anthony James Harris (b. 26 June, 1982) in Dunedin. He is a New Zealand cricketer who has played for the Otago Volts in the State Championship and he also plays for Central Otago in the Hawke Cup. , Walsall Council cabinet member for highways, said: "I'm pleased we can help the shoppers and shopkeepers."
