Black Country News: Lose pounds and keep them - at the same time; WOLVERHAMPTON.


WOLVERHAMPTON Wolverhampton (wl`vərhămp'tən), city (1991 pop. 263,501) and metropolitan district, W central England, in the Black Country.  residents are being given a helping hand to get in shape.

The city council has launched a series of discount cards which aim to save regular leisure centre users money.

The Fit Cards, which come in three different packages, have proved immensely successful since their launch late last year, and hundreds of people have already signed up.

The 12-month passes give holders unlimited use of health and fitness suites at Aldersley Aldersley is a very small suburb of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It is north-west of Wolverhampton city centre, within the Tettenhall Regis ward. Bilston is a town in England's West Midlands. It is the south-eastern corner of the Metropolitan Borough and City of Wolverhampton. Two wards of Wolverhampton City Council cover the town: Bilston East and Bilston North.
 Leisure Centre and Central Baths, and the swimming pools at Bilston Leisure Centre and Central Baths.

Fit Gym, which costs pounds 180-a-year, is designed for people who only want to use the health and fitness facilities, while Fit Swim (pounds 110) is for those who just want to swim. A joint card, Fit Combi (pounds 260), allows people to use both the pools and the health and fitness suites.
