Black Country News: Countdown to switch-on of CCTV; WEDNESBURY.


CRIME cameras costing pounds 210,000 for Wednesbury town centre should be up and running within days, Sandwell Sandwell is a metropolitan borough in the West Midlands of England. It is made up of the Black Country towns of Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich.  Council said today.

The system, comprising seven cameras and monitoring equipment, was to have made its debut with the completion of the new Morrisons store in Holyhead Coordinates:  Holyhead (IPA: /ˈhɒlihɛd/; Welsh: Caergybi, "the fort of Saint Cybi") is the largest town in the county of Anglesey in the northwest of Wales.  Road on November 26.

Its provision was welcomed after news that a smaller four-camera pounds 100,000 scheme planned by Centro - which would have covered a walkway walkway Rehabilitation medicine An instrument used to measure the timing of foot contact and or position of the foot on the ground  between Wednesbury Parkway and the town's bus station - had been axed and the money re-directed because no cash was available to pay staff to monitor and maintain the system.

Coun Derek Rowley, Sand well Council's spokesman for safer communities, revealed earlier this month that operation of the Morrisons scheme had been delayed through a technical snag and that the monitored pictures needed more clarity.

Coun Rowley said today: "We have been told the work is scheduled to be carried out later this week or early next week."
