Black Country News: Beat the heat and the burglars; DUDLEY.POLICE in Dudley are reminding residents to make sure their doors and windows are securely locked during the warm spell Warm Spell (1988-1994) was an American Eclipse Award winning thoroughbred racehorse, a Kentucky-bred son of Northern Baby, owned and trained by John K. Griggs and bred by Robert Kluener. He was ridden primarily by the owner/trainer's son, Kirk Griggs. after a spate of burglaries. In the past few weeks there have been a number of break-ins through unlocked doors and windows, particularly in the Kate's Hill area. Supt Laurie Dyer said: "It is important that people check their doors and windows are locked before they go to bed at night. "Many burglars are opportunists and will simply take any chance they can get.
