SCHOOL children across Sandwell are being urged to start the day right with a healthy breakfast as part of a nationwide campaign that kicks off this week.

National Breakfast Week aims to promote the importance of tucking into a nutritious nutritious /nu·tri·tious/ (noo-trish´us) affording nourishment.

 breakfast first thing in the morning and Sandwell Healthy Schools team is making sure the borough's children get the message.

Members of the team stole a march on the campaign by calling in at Rounds Green School in Brades Road, Oldbury, but will also be visiting a different primary each day to prepare healthy breakfasts for the pupils and their teachers.

Toast, courtesy of bread supplied free of charge by Warburton's in Wednesbury, delicious smoothies and fruit are among the goodies on offer.

Mums and dads are also being invited to join in and taste the difference a healthy breakfast makes.

The breakfast clubbers will also get the chance to have some fun and learn at the same time by playing the Healthy Schools team's Belly Busters This is a list of Busters from the manga Beet the Vandel Buster. The Beet Warriors

 game in which they will be asked questions about eating habits and travel around the board picking up penalties or pieces of fruit.

Sandwell Healthy Schools co-ordinator Joanne Almond almond, name for a small tree (Prunus amygdalus) of the family Rosaceae (rose family) and for the nutlike, edible seed of its drupe fruit. The "nuts" of sweet-almond varieties are eaten raw or roasted and are pressed to obtain almond oil.  said that children who ate a healthy breakfast were more alert in lessons and better able to concentrate at school so it was vital that they started the day right with a nutritious meal inside them.
