PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2002

Black Box Corporation (Nasdaq:BBOX) today announced a merger with TW Netzwerkservice Gmbh. Established in 1994 in Ramerberg Ramerberg is a town in the district of Rosenheim in Bavaria in Germany.

Commenting on the merger, Peter Obermeier, Finance Director of Black Box Germany, said, "This is the first step in providing a full range of technical services to customers all over Germany. The team at TW will work closely with our existing phone services operation in Munich to accelerate growth in both businesses by providing a wider range of technical services and products to Black Box customers. The business under Mr. Trebbe's leadership will also serve as a model for further mergers planned in Germany."

 to join the Black Box team." TW Netzwerkservice will change its name to Black Box Network Services -- Bavarian Operations. Mr. Trebbe will report to Mr. Obermeier.

This merger brings Black Box a step closer to its goal of offering complementary on-site services to all of its clients throughout the world. Germany now joins Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. This transaction is being accounted for as a purchase. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
