Black Box Corporation Announces Merger With Parrish Communication Cabling, Inc.

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2000

Black Box Corporation (Nasdaq:BBOX) today announced a merger with Parrish Communication Cabling, Inc.

Established in 1990 in Seattle, Washington, privately-held Parrish provides technical design, installation and maintenance services for premise cabling and related products to customers throughout the greater Seattle region. Annual revenues of Parrish are approximately $4 million.

This is the twenty-eighth merger since January 1998 and the fourteenth of Fiscal Year 2000 as Black Box continues to expand its worldwide technical support service offerings.

Commenting on the merger, Fred C. Young, Chief Executive Officer of Black Box Corporation, stated, "Parrish is a high quality company servicing a very dynamic marketplace. Together, we should be able to leverage our unique strengths for the benefit of our customers. Parrish also provides us with our first West Coast on-site geographic coverage, which we will further expand during 2000."

Mr. Parrish will continue to serve as President of Parrish Communication Cabling.

This transaction is being accounted for as a purchase. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
