BiznessOnline.com (NASDAQ NM: BIZZ) one of the Northeast's leading integrated communications providers, today announced telecommunications executive Joseph J. Sullivan's appointment to the newly formed position of Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Sullivan brings 18 years of telecommunications and Internet experience to the position, and has spent his career building and managing telecom carrier operations. Most recently, Mr. Sullivan served as President of BiznessOnline.com's Telecon Communications division.

Prior to joining Telecon in 1998, Mr. Sullivan was Eastern Region Vice President of Operations of Citizens Communications and held direct responsibility for a division consisting of 1,400 personnel, including telecommunications engineers, support staff, and maintenance crews.

Before his tenure at Citizens, he served as a Vice President with FLEX Communications, a New York State-based long distance company which was acquired by Citizens Communications in 1995. From 1982 to 1994 Mr. Sullivan held various operating positions at RCI (now Frontier Communications), Contel and GTE.

Mr. Sullivan's role as Chief Operating Officer will complement that of Chief Executive Officer Mark Munro's, and will include responsibility for the Company's day-to-day technical operations such as network management, general administration, billing and customer care operations.

Possessing operating capabilities that span both emerging and incumbent carriers, Mr. Sullivan has overseen a broad range of corporate initiatives during his career, including the development of convergent billing platforms incorporating both data and voice products, and the establishment of sales and marketing organizations.

His product management expertise includes local dial tone, long distance services, wireless communications, Internet connectivity, and telephone systems sales and service.
