Bitstream Releases ThunderHawk Version 1.09.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

CAMBRIDGE, Mass--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 2003

Pioneering Wireless Web Browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you.  Doubles Most Rendering Speeds,

Enhances Installation, and Adds Support for E750-Series Devices

Bitstream Inc. (Nasdaq:BITS) announced today the availability of version 1.09 of ThunderHawk(TM), its wireless Web browsing technology. This release makes it possible to render downloaded pages twice as fast as in previous releases, enhances the online installation process to allow for storage on a storage card, and adds support for the new Toshiba e750 and e755 Pocket PCs. ThunderHawk 1.09 also permits IP addresses of client machines to pass through ThunderHawk proxy servers, for functions like inventory tracking that use IP addresses to determine how to select data for presentation on the mobile device.

In a review August 2003 at http://www.bostonpocketpc.com, James Kendrick gives ThunderHawk five stars out of five and elaborates, "Bitstream realized they would have to accomplish two things to make Web browsing come to life on the Pocket PC platform: render a large screen to a small landscape screen and still be legible, and do it at a very fast speed. They have accomplished both goals admirably, as working with a Web site with ThunderHawk feels very similar to browsing on the desktop, and very little is lost in the translation ... ThunderHawk is one of the most used programs on my Pocket PC." Kendrick is a consulting geophysicist and self-proclaimed "techno-geek" from Cypress, Texas Cypress is an unincorporated area of Harris County, Texas located completely inside the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. "Our large virtual 800x600 screen size and state-of-the-art font rendering are the key factors behind our close emulation of the desktop view. We will continue to improve this revolutionary browsing technology in step with market developments, and we plan to add especially aggressively to the suite of services we provide corporate users," she added.
