Hamilton -- For the third straight year, the Catholic bishops of Hamilton have declined to participate in an annual worship service recognizing the common baptism of Anglicans, Lutherans and Catholics. Catholic leaders fear that their faithful might be confused by thinking that in continuing to meet with religious leaders who approve of and accept 'gay' marriage, the Catholic Church itself is becoming indifferent to the issue. Anglicans and Lutherans recognize 'gay' relationships to varying degrees.

Over the last 40 years Anglicans and Lutherans have abandoned many other Christian traditions Christian traditions are traditions of practice or belief associated with Christianity.

The term has several connected meanings. In terms of belief, traditions are generally stories or history that are or were widely accepted without being part of Christian doctrine.
