Bishkek mayor announces details of ceremony to pay last respects for writer Aitmatov.

Bishkek mayor Daniyar Usenov told the details of the ceremony to pay last respects for writer Chinghiz Aitmatov who will be buried on Saturday at Ata Beit memorial cemetery.Several streets will be closed on Saturday. The Bishkek mayor asked Bishkekers postpone their affairs and limit their move around the capital city.Manas prospekt from the Presidential Residence to Frunze street will be closed since 7.00 am. The motorcade with the writer's body will be brought to the National Philharmonic at 8.00 am.The ceremony to pay last respects to the writer will start at 9.00 am and will last until 11.00 am. In case there are too many people coming, the ceremony will be extended until 12.00. Kyrgyz citizens will enter from the eastern entrance of the National Philharmonic. The members of the state commission, representatives of delegations will use the central entrance.After paying the last respects, the meeting-requiem will be held. President Bakiev is due to address attendees of the ceremony.Then the writer's body will be taken on a special vehicle to Alatoo central square, where the body would be put on the pedestal. The flag of the Kyrgyz Republic will be dipped and one-minute silence will be announced.Then the procession will move along Baitik Batyr street to Ata Beit memorial cemetery.Toktogul, Kievskaya, Frunze, Baitik Baatyr streets will be closed.Bishkek mayor's office will allocate 135 buses for delegations, government officers on the funeral day. The rest people can drive along Almatinskiaya street until Koi Tash, where the checkpoint will be set up. After a checkpoint people will have to walk 1.5 km."The funeral will be carried out according to Muslim and Kyrgyz rites. The writer's body will be taken home from the morgue tonight.The delegations from all parts of the world are expected to attend the funeral. Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan confirmed their attendance. "The Kazakh delegation will be led by First Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Turkish delegation will be led by Turkish President's administration chief, Delegation of the Russian ministers will arrive too," Usenov said.Usenov said all seminars, conferences, film festival will be carried out as planned. The mayor said some of the streets and universities could be renamed after Aitmatov, but this issue would be considered 40 days after the funeral.
