Bishkek mayor\'s office said today it would seek termination of the existing agreements with the Hyatt Regency Bishkek in court, in case the Hyatt Regency Bishkek continues ignoring legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, appeals and lawful demands of Bishkek local authorities.During eight years the Hyatt Regency Bishkek has been paying no more than US$2,600 for rent of the territory over 2 hectares in size by agreements signed in late 1990-s, which Bishkek mayor\'s office described as \"agreements damaging people\'s interests\". Rent for such territory could cost US$200,000 per annum according to the existing norms, said Bishkek mayoreCOs press office in a public statement released today concerning the fence dismantled in front of the Hyatt Regency Bishkek on Thursday. Bishkek mayoreCOs office said they have received numerous appeals from Bishkekers and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic with requests to provide a free access to the monument of ballerina Bubusara Beishenalieva. This issue was repeatedly considered by Bishkek Local Council, Bishkek City Development Council and Land Commission of Bishkek. Bishkek mayoreCOs office and Sverdlovskiy district administration repeatedly appealed to the CJSC JV Italkir, main shareholder of the Hyatt Regency Bishkek, asking to dismantle a part of the fence in front of the Hyatt Regency Bishkek to provide unhampered access to the ballerinaeCOs monument.According to the paragraph 2 of the governmental decree of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 215 of May 8, 2001, concerning setting into operation Kyrgyzstan hotel [which was reconstructed as the Hyatt Regency Bishkek], Bishkek mayoreCOs office and CJSC JV Italkir have been ordered to provide unstopped access to Bubusara BeishenalievaeCOs monument for residents and visitors of Bishkek.According to the Article 74 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, governmental decrees and orders are subject to mandatory execution across the country. Failure to comply with or improper compliance with regulations adopted by the Government is subject to punishment as established by the law.
