West Hartlepool refers to the western part of the modern borough of Hartlepool in North East England.
....... 17 BIRKENHEAD Park Birkenhead Park is a public park in the centre of Birkenhead, Merseyside. It was designed by Joseph Paxton and opened on 5 April 1847. It is commonly regarded as the first civic public park anywhere in the world.  got off to a winning start in National Three North League although they lost their way somewhat in the second period.

Park built up a 22-9 interval lead with tries via Freeman Payne, Paddy McDonough from a charged down clearance and Martin O'Keefe with Dave Hall There are a few people named Dave Hall:
  • Dave Hall (U.S. politician) from Ohio.
  • Dave Hall (record producer).
 adding two conversions and a penalty.

But a drop goal by Tony Handley was their only reward in the second period when the visitors dominated possession.

Paul Moss added a fourth penalty following a trio of first-half kicks and the centre then went in for an unconverted try with ten minutes remaining.

Park at one stage in the final quarter were down to thirteen men as players served time in the bin.

It became a backs to the wall task but they deserved the victory.

Handley was dominant at stand-off and David Blythe and O'Keefe showed up well in the pack.

There was also some good runs from full-back Andy Trotter.
