Bird guides' free lecture; NEWSBRIEF.PANAMANIAN bird experts have arrived in Cardiff to deliver a free lecture. Carlos Bethancourt and Jose Soto, both professional bird guides and expert naturalists working in the rainforests of Panama, will deliver a talk entitled Birding in the Panama Canal Zone Panama Canal Zone, former territory within Panama, 553 sq mi (1,432 sq km), that was administered by the United States under a 1903 treaty (with later amendments) with Panama. The zone included the Panama Canal and an area extending 5 mi (8.1 km) on each side. in the old church rooms on the corner of Heol Isaf and Park Road, in Radyr, Cardiff, from 7.30pm today.
