Gilleland, 50, as the chairman. Gilleland has been a director of Bird Medical Technologies since April 1994. He assumes the position of Chairman from Felix T. Troilo, who remains a director, as well as the president and chief executive officer of the company. There are five directors on Bird Medical Technologies' board. Previously, Gilleland served as chairman of the board and CEO of two other medical companies -- American Medical International and Intermedics.
