Birch Juice in Belarus.

Borisov Cannery, the producers of fruit juices and concentrates as well as canned fruit and vegetables, have launched Birch Juice in one litre Tetra Brik Aseptic cartons.

Birch Juice is made from birch-tree sap and is a traditional beverage in Belarus. The perishable sap is extracted from a cut in the trunk of the tree and is only harvested during a very short, one to two week season in the spring. Normally it is stored in 1 to 3 litre glass jars.

The high speed of the Tetra Brik Aseptic (TBA) packaging line, as compared to a glass jar line, makes it possible to package large quantities of this perishable product in a very short time. The sap is blended with sugar and citric acid immediately after harvesting and, in the case of the new TBA product, pasteurised and packed. Borisov Cannery offers two variants in TBA packages, including one blended with apple juice. It is an alternative to both juice and water in a more 'modern looking' package with a high degree of convenience.
