In general, the NDA states why the information is being divulged and stipulates that it cannot be used for any ) for BVF-033, a novel once-daily salt formulation of bupropion bupropion /bu·pro·pi·on/ (bu-pro´pe-on) a monocyclic compound structurally similar to amphetamine, used as the hydrochloride salt as an antidepressant and as an aid in smoking cessation. . The main issue raised by the FDA in its letter related to the design of the pharmacokinetic studies required to support the NDA. Biovail believes the studies were appropriate. However, the Company is evaluating the issue and will meet with the FDA as soon as possible to discuss necessary steps to resolve this matter.
