Biotechnology and IP Lawyer Jennifer Camacho Joins Proskauer Rose as Partner in Boston.

BOSTON -- Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm with more than 750 lawyers worldwide, announced that Jennifer A. Camacho, an experienced biotechnology and intellectual property lawyer, has joined the firm as a partner in Boston.

Ms. Camacho joins Proskauer from Codon Devices, Inc., an international biotechnology company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she was Chief Patent Counsel and Vice President of Intellectual Property. Ms. Camacho will be a key member of the firm's Patent Law and Life Sciences practice groups.

At Codon Devices, a leading company in the emerging field of synthetic biology, Ms. Camacho was responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the company's intellectual property portfolio. In addition, Ms. Camacho worked closely with the company's research and development group, structuring third-party collaborative relationships and providing intellectual property guidance in connection with the company's product development initiatives across a wide variety of market applications. As a member of Codon Devices' executive management team, Ms. Camacho also provided cross-functional, hands-on general counsel throughout the organization.

Prior to joining Codon, Ms. Camacho was an associate in Proskauer's Patent Practice Group. She received her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her B.S. in Cell and Structural Biology from the University of Illinois. In addition, she served as a research assistant in molecular biology and genetic engineering at Harvard University and the University of Illinois.
