Biotechnology Industry Organization.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), Washington, D.C., names Congressman James C. Greenwood as its next president. Greenwood has represented the Eighth District of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1993 and serves on the Energy and Commerce and Education and the Workforce Committees. He previously served in the Pennsylvania House and Senate. He will be taking over from Carl B. Feldbaum who has headed BIO since its establishment in July of 1993. In addition, the organization selects Sean Darragh for the newly created position of executive director for BIO's Food and Agriculture section. He will direct the diplomatic, legislative, regulatory and communications strategy for the Food and Ag section, as well as manage the day-to-day operations, budget and staff. Darragh was most recently deputy vice president of international affairs at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
