Amgen Inc. completed its acquisition of Abgenix Inc., a Fremont-based company specializing in the development of human therapeutic antibodies. Final regulatory approvals were received in January, and Abgenix stockholders overwhelmingly approved the acquisition during a special meeting on March 29. In December, Abgenix agreed to be acquired by Thousand Oaks-based Amgen for $22.50 per share in cash.
