Biosonics Names James Gunnerson as Sales and Marketing Consultant.

Biosonics, Inc. (OTC BB:BISN), the Fort Washington, PA - based company that specializes in medical electrotherapeutic solutions, announces James A. Gunnerson as a full-time consultant, directing Sales and Marketing.

The firm is launching a direct sales campaign of the Salitron System in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

The Salitron System, approved by the FDA for marketing, is a medical device for the treatment of Xerostomia (dry mouth). It is reported that there are several million people who suffer with this condition.

"Our initial efforts will include contacting and supporting the doctors who currently prescribe the Salitron System. In addition, we will be increasing our contacts of healthcare practitioners in the Tri-State area in order to increase the number of physicians ordering the Salitron System for their patients," said Gunnerson. Gunnerson has nearly 30 years of medical device sales and marketing experience. He founded and was CEO of Eastern Anesthesia, Inc., a regional distributor of critical care medical devices. During his tenure, the company grew to sales of $8 million per year.

Consecutively, he founded and was CEO of Eastern Rental Services. This ventilator rental firm, which supplied life support equipment to hospitals on a fee-per-use basis, was later sold to a national rental firm. Gunnerson also founded Eastern Rail Systems, which is a manufacturing and distributing company that sells organizational products for critical care settings in hospitals across the U.S.

In 1992, he founded and was CEO of Renaissance Technology, Inc., a product development firm that licenses patented technology from Drexel University.

The company markets and sells non-invasive cardiac output monitors used in critical care settings in hospitals such as University of Southern California, Cleveland Clinic and Lehigh Valley Hospital. In 1997, he raised $6 million in venture funding to further develop the company and the product.

In addition to the Salitron, Biosonics has FDA marketing approval for the Cystotron, a device to treat incontinence (13+ million people).

Biosonics has also developed several patented medical products that incorporate the same technology as the approved devices, for medical conditions such as erectile dysfunction (20+ million men) and nasal/sinus congestion (50+ million people) as well as diagnostic tools for physicians.
