Biosense Webster Awarded Supply Agreement in Novation Cardiac Rhythm Portfolio; Only Company to Receive Contract for Therapeutic and Diagnostic Catheters.

 catheter design and development, Thursday announced the signing of a purchasing agreement with Novation The substitution of a new contract for an old one. The new agreement extinguishes the rights and obligations that were in effect under the old agreement.

The agreement represents one of the largest contracts of its kind for electrophysiology products, and Biosense Webster is the only company out of the three contracted manufacturers to be awarded a contract for both therapeutic and diagnostic electrophysiology catheters.

Through this agreement, Biosense Webster will provide its range of electrophysiology catheters to VHA and UHC UHC UnitedHealthcare

The Novation agreement was awarded based on Novation's public competitive bid process, which for this contract included input from electrophysiologists, cardiologists and EP/cath lab managers.

Through the contract, Biosense Webster will supply both its therapeutic and diagnostic product lines, which include fixed tip, small dome, specialty 20-pole diagnostic catheters and the CELSIUS(TM) line of ablation ablation /ab·la·tion/ (-shun)
