Biophage Pharma Announces Breaktrough in Live Bacteria Quantification With Nanosensor Technology.

MONTREAL -- New Technology can detect presence of 5-10 Bacteria in a Liquid Sample

Biophage Pharma Inc. (TSX-V: BUG), a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of new therapeutics and clinical diagnostics based on its leading expertise in immunology immunology, branch of medicine that studies the response of organisms to foreign substances, e.g., viruses, bacteria, and bacterial toxins (see immunity). Immunologists study the tissues and organs of the immune system (bone marrow, spleen, tonsils, thymus, lymphatic  and phage therapy Phage therapy is the therapeutic use of lytic bacteriophages to treat pathogenic bacterial infections. Bacteriophages, or "phages" are viruses that invade only bacterial cells and, in the case of lytic , announced today that it has reached a significant milestone in the detection and quantification of bacteria. The continued development of the Nanosensor has enabled Biophage to detect 5 to 10 bacteria in 1 ml of liquid sample.By allowing the detection of very small number of bacteria in a short period of time, this Nonosensor technology will be a valuable tool for environmental monitoring and biodefense.

"I am very pleased to announce that our recent results represent a breakthrough in the quantification of bacteria in a liquid sample," stated Dr. Rosemonde Mandeville, President and Chief Executive Officer of Biophage Pharma Inc. "Based on innovations in Impedance Spectroscopy spectroscopy
