Bionutrics Elects Two New Directors.


PHOENIX, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1999--Bionutrics, Inc. (Nasdaq: BNRX), a biopharmaceutical company, today announced that it's board of directors elected Mr. Robert Goergen and Mr. Donald Winkler as directors.

Goergen is the Chairman and CEO of Blyth Blyth (blīth), town (1991 pop. 36,466), Northumberland, NE England, at the mouth of the Blyth River. It is an industrial center and seaport, with shipbuilding and ship repair. Ropes and sails, confectionery, textiles, and clothing are manufactured. The area south of the harbor is a seaside resort. Industries, Inc., which he built into an $875 million NYSE listed public company. He is also Chairman of XTRA Corporation, the largest trailer leasing company in the U.S. and a NYSE listed public company. Goergen is also Chairman of The Ropart Group, a private investment company trading for its own account. Previously, he was an Executive Vice President of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. and a principal of McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Winkler is Chairman and CEO of Finance One Corporation, a $41 billion dollar non-bank subsidiary of Bank One Corporation, since 1993. Prior to creating and leading Finance One Corporation, Winkler had a seventeen-year career with Citibank, during which he managed all consumer business for the bank in Southern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Bionutrics is an emerging biopharmaceutical company founded to discover and develop novel, biologically active compounds derived from natural sources. Natural, biologically active compounds have potential applications as ethical drugs as well as functional food ingredients and dietary supplements. Bionutrics intends to develop and market products that target these three applications, and also market commodities that result from its processing of natural products. Bionutric's first patented product contains tocotrienols from rice bran that are currently marketed as Clearesterol(TM), an ingredient for dietary supplements.
