PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 14, 2001

Bionutrics Health Products' Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Richard Mott, commented "We have great expectations for CARDIO-CIN(TM). The medical and consumer communities have long appreciated the advantages of both fiber and niacin for cholesterol management. Our new product and it's trial results echo similar findings reported on November 13, 2000, by Merck & Co which demonstrated that patients who took niacin plus the statin drug, simvastatin simvastatin /sim·va·stat·in/ (sim´vah-stat?in) an antihyperlipidemic agent that acts by inhibiting cholesterol synthesis, used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and other forms of dyslipidemia and to lower the risks associated  (Zocor(R), which is designed to lower cholesterol and the risk of heart disease), experienced plunging cholesterol levels. Bionutrics patented release modification technology has been clinically proven to provide niacin in the easily tolerated doses required for healthy cholesterol results and the addition of the fiber component of the product further contributes to its beneficial cardiovascular effects. We believe the market for this type of product is quite sizable and that there are multiple channels for potential distribution. Bionutrics will initially target CARDIO-CIN(TM) for market introduction through Direct-Sales companies. Direct-Sales companies have a large share of the dietary supplement market and represent an excellent opportunity for the Company to achieve early consumer acceptance and success."
