Biometrics: high-tech future of security industry.

JAD (Joint Application Development) An approach to systems analysis and design introduced by IBM in 1977 that emphasizes teamwork between user and technician. Small groups meet to determine system objectives and the business transactions to be supported.  Communication & Safety Systems (JADCS), the security products division of JAD Corporation of America, unveiled an entirely new line of biometric security products at the Wall Street Journal Transcript Security Conference that was held at The Harvard Club January 26, 2005.

The products offer multimodal Two or more modes of operation. The term is used to refer to a myriad of functions and conditions in which two or more different methods, processes or forms of delivery are used. On the Web, it refers to asking for something one way and receiving the answer another; for example requesting , end-to-end biometric security solutions that include 3D infrared facial recognition Noun 1. facial recognition - biometric identification by scanning a person's face and matching it against a library of known faces; "they used face recognition to spot known terrorists"

"There is a popular tendency to regard biometric products as sci-fi mythology, but the reality is that biometrics is the future of the security industry and is quickly becoming recognized as the most accurate identification technology in the market," said Don Mihae, who has recently been hired by JADCS to head up the building security division.

"At JADCS, our goal is not to replace a property's existing security structure, but to build on to it, incorporating the latest innovations in biometric technology and real time security management. Our state-of-the-art products and integrated end to end solutions allow building owners to implement the most advanced biometric technology thus substantially improving the quality of security well within the overall security budget. These products are not astronomically priced, but within the range of accessibility for a majority of commercial, and in many cases, residential properties."

") and various other government agencies to exponentially accelerate the evolution of Biometrics for identification. He has been a team leader for several U.S. government research projects, including critical biometric testing at major domestic airports. Through Mr. Milne's guidance, JADCS has begun working with leading edge technology companies including A4Vision, Cross Match Technologies Inc., Unisys Corporation (company) Unisys Corporation - The company formed in 1984-5 when Burroughs Corporation merged with Sperry Corporation. This was when the phrase "dinosaurs mating" was coined.  and American Systems Corporation (ASC ASC Ambulatory surgery center, see there ). This seasoned team of integrators is helping JADCS bring to market the newest security innovations through the introduction of a full and complete comprehensive building security solution to be released in the second quarter of 2005. The security system will deploy facial recognition surveillance, intelligent video, biometric access control, biological and chemical detection, automotive bomb sensing technology and bomb proofing infrastructures for critical areas such as lobby's and loading docks.

"JAD is agnostic to the front end biometric sensor. We do not narrow our product offerings to any one vendor, but instead we offer our clients a full range of biometric security solutions from the companies that we have objectively determined through our own laboratory testing to have the best performing products in the field," said Mr. Milne.

Mr. Milne introduced the following JADCS products at the January 26 conference:

IdentiPort Visitor Identification System--a 30-lb. fully portable unit to use at the lobby reception area to verify visitor's appointments to a building, authenticate (1) To verify (guarantee) the identity of a person or company. To ensure that the individual or organization is really who it says it is. See authentication and digital certificate.

(2) To verify (guarantee) that data has not been altered.
each person's identity, and produce a visitor badge for entry in less than 30 seconds per guest. The device accurately authenticates a person's identification document, takes a picture of the person and compares the facial photo to a database of known criminals or persons on the no-trespass list. The IdentiPort, Mr. Milne's co-invention which was then created by InteliTrac, Inc. was the first biometrics technology utilizing facial recognition to be used for airport security.

* Access Control Facial Recognition--Utilizes high-speed biometrics to permit authorized users authorized user Radiation physics A person who, having satisfied the applicable training and experience requirements, is granted authority to order radioactive material and accepts responsibility for its safe receipt, storage, use, transfer and disposal  entry to a property or specific areas of a building. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a facial database.  and can be integrated with ID/Proximity cards for optimal performance.

* Facial Recognition Surveillance--Hidden passive surveillance cameras that can be set up to monitor an entrance way of any type of building to accurately identify a potential suspect, terrorist or wanted person against a database of millions of suspect images in less than one second. Alerts are sent to security or other relevant personnel in real time.

* Alert Management--Fully customizable command center that warns of a potential security breech breech (brech) the buttocks.
