Biometric Access Corporation (BAC), a leading provider of biometric identity verification solutions, today announced the availability of a USB model of SecureTouch PC(tm), the company's latest computer/network access control product.

The USB model of SecureTouch PC joins a Parallel Port model to enhance BAC's computer/network security offering. SecureTouch PC is the fifth generation computer/network security finger image reader developed by BAC and replaces its predecessor, the SecureTouch 2000(tm) product.

SecureTouch PC is a low cost, user-friendly finger image reader that provides enhanced security for computer and/or network access control. Unlike passwords, which can be easily compromised, finger image authentication assures that only authorized individuals gain access to the computers and networks. Each SecureTouch PC unit is supplied with a Windows(R) 95/98/ME and NT/2000/XP finger image-authenticated logon and screensaver and a password vault that allows users to store encrypted IDs and passwords for access to internal and external applications via the touch of a finger. Additional SecureTouch(R) software applications are available that enable users to customize the solution to meet their needs.

SecureTouch PC is also compatible with several software applications offered by BAC partner vendors, including Novell, Informer Systems Limited (ISL) and IBM/Tivoli. ISL's SentriNET software coupled with SecureTouch PC is a superior solution for Active Directory environments. SentriNET fully integrates with Microsoft management tools for easy administrative account setup and offers secure remote enrollment for rapid deployment. Web based biometric authentication is also available with an add-on component.
