Zhang and Alon (both Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida) present the first book of its kind to review, summarize and compile extensive biographical information on a list of important business and economic leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and politicians in China since the reform era began in 1978; also included are overseas Chinese business leaders. The text features 200 entries, each consisting of 400-1000 words, contributed by 65 international academics, business professionals, and freelance writers. Each entry includes a brief summary of the individual's life and career, focusing primarily on his/her accomplishments and contributions to China's economic development. The text brings together information which is not widely accessible to an English-reading audience--from a variety of scattered sources and media, many of which are in Chinese--and will be an invaluable reference for scholars, practitioners, and librarians in international business, entrepreneurship and Asian studies.
