Biobased polyols for flexible foams.


Commercial volumes of plant-derived polyols are now being sold to large producers of flexible PUR foams for the automotive, furniture, and bedding industries. Cargill Industrial Products, Wayzata, Minn., is offering the first three in a new line of biobased polyols that offer customers "green" marketing potential and some protection against the uncertainty of oil and natural gas prices.

Cargill's proprietary technology can employ a number of natural oils--including linseed linseed, seed of the flax plant. , rapeseed rapeseed
