Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BASI), provider of contract research services and instrumentation to the pharmaceutical industry, has realigned its management team.

"Growth since our 1997 public offering and a clear vision of our future make it appropriate to reassign and expand on responsibilities of several key members of our management team," said Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Peter T. Kissinger, Ph.D.

Craig S. Bruntlett, Ph.D. has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Sales. Dr. Bruntlett, who served as VP of the Electrochemical electrochemical /elec·tro·chem·i·cal/ (-kem´i-k'l) pertaining to interaction or interconversion of chemical and electrical energies.

Candice B. Kissinger was named Senior Vice President, Marketing, and will work to strengthen corporate marketing strategy and tactics, particularly through implementation of BAS' accelerating e-commerce initiative. Formerly the VP of International Sales and Marketing, Ms. Kissinger established BAS' global position in analytical chemical instrumentation. Ms. Kissinger will continue as a Director and Secretary of the corporation.

Michael P. Silvon, Ph.D., VP Business Development, will assume additional responsibilities as General Manager of BAS Evansville, the newly acquired preclinical contract research facility, and BAS Vetronics, the company's veterinary physiology monitoring business. Dr. Silvon joined BAS in 1997, having held senior business management positions in the specialty chemicals industry.

BAS manufacturing operations will now report through Douglas P. Wieten, VP Finance. "My best contributions to BAS future will come from outside, from strategic corporate relationships and from strengthening shareholder value," Dr. Kissinger commented. "Doug is respected by our operations people and is a skilled mentor. Under Doug, I expect manufacturing to continue improving processes begun on our trek toward ISO (1) See ISO speed.
