Mr. Ellis has more than 29 years of experience in analytical and biotechnology instrumentation, including 17 years of experience in the field of genetic and protein analysis. Before joining BioTrove as COO in May 2003, Ellis was at Affymetrix, where he was Executive Vice President responsible for R&D efforts for the commercialization of the company's microarray technology resulting in the development and introduction of numerous new products.

Prior to Affymetrix, Ellis was President of Genometrix and held senior executive positions at Applied Biosystems and Perkin Elmer where he was President of Applied Biosystems Japan, responsible for strategic marketing and R&D for Perkin Elmer's Applied Genetics and Nucleic Acid nucleic acid, any of a group of organic substances found in the chromosomes of living cells and viruses that play a central role in the storage and replication of hereditary information and in the expression of this information through protein synthesis.  synthesis units.
