BioSyntech Enhances Management Team as Product Candidates Move Towards Commercialization.

LAVAL, Quebec -- BIOSYNTECH (TSX VENTURE:BSY) announces the appointment of three new members to its management team as the Company gears up for the commercialization in Canada and Europe of BST-CarGel(TM) in 2006 and continuesdevelopment of its other product candidates. Mr. Gilles Chaumillon, PhD, MBA, is appointed Senior Director, Project Management, with overall responsibility for all projects while Ms. Genevieve Hamel becomes Director, Project Management with responsibilities that include a particular focus on BST-CarGel(TM) . Together, they have the responsibility to bring to term our current products as well as any new products.Ms. Cathy Morin takes on the position of Director, Regulatory Affairs.

Mr. Gilles Chaumillon holds a PhD in Marine Biology from Universite Laval and an MBA in Management of Bio-industries from the Universite du Quebec a Montreal (UQAM). He brings to BioSyntech seven years experience in the biopharmaceutical field with Laboratoires Aeterna Inc. and with a contract research organization, Recherches Medeconovo, where he occupied the position of General Manager. Mr. Chaumillon's experience spans strategic planning, operational and financial management, marketing, quality control and the management of supply networks.

Ms. Genevieve Hamel is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, the engineering faculty of the Universite de Montreal, where she obtained an MSc in biomedical engineering. She has worked in the biomedical engineering field for the past ten years. From 1994 to 1997, Ms. Hamel was employed by a subsidiary of Pfizer Howmedica International - of Switzerland, Jacquet Orthopedie S.A., as a specialist in research and development. She later joined ORTHOsoft Inc. where she worked first as project and product manager and then as process, quality assurance and regulatory affairs manager.

Ms. Cathy Morin brings to BioSyntech close to ten years experience, the majority of which has been in biotech or biotech related industries, in the fields of quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Educated in France with the equivalent of an MBA from the School of Management and Commerce, Saint-Nazaire, Ms. Morin most recently served as Senior Regulatory Associate with Bioniche Life Sciences Inc. and from 1999 to 2002 as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance with Biorthex Inc. Her experience has encompassed regulatory submissions for the Canadian, US and European markets.

Core Product Candidates

BST-CarGel(TM) is a new, minimally invasive approach to cartilage repair on target for Canadian and European marketing in 2006 assuming required approvals.

BST-InPod(TM) is an injectable product to relieve acute plantar pain by restoring the comfort of the plantar fat pads.

BST-DermOn(TM) is a topical therapy designed for the treatment of chronic wounds slated to complete a clinical trial in Canada by Q4, 2005.
