This is the second landfill remodeling project that BioSafe has won. BioSafe currently operates the 28-acre landfill in Fairhaven, Mass., its first landfill remodeling site, and is currently in the process of gaining the necessary permits to begin operations of its 80 percent-owned 200-acre Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).  landfill, in Moretown, Vt.

The 27-acre South hadley landfill will be the next site for BioSafe's proprietary landfill remodeling process. Under the terms of the agreement, BioSafe will take over from the town the complete operations of the landfill; however, the town of South Hadley will retain full ownership of the landfill.

Upon completion of all landfill remodeling activities to be performed by BioSafe, the reprocessed South Hadley landfill will have a new capacity of 900,000 tons of waste. With a planned fill rate of approximately 400 tons per day, the total project life of the South Hadley landfill is estimated to be 7.5 years. Based on a tipping fee of $45 per ton of waste, potential revenues to BioSafe from the South Hadley landfill are projected to be $44,000,000. Revenues are expected to begin by the middle of 1996.

and compacting the remaining waste and then returning it to the landfill. BioSafe can often recover between 50 percent and 80 percent of the previously used space. The remodeling of this landfill by BioSafe will provide new waste disposal capacity through economically and environmentally sound methods to a region where landfill space is in short supply.
