Upon the completion of all landfill remodeling activities to be performed by BioSafe, the reprocessed Orange landfill will have 1.1 million tons of new waste disposal capacity. With a planned fill rate of 400 tons per day, the total project life is estimated at 8 years. Based on an expected tipping fee of $45 per ton, potential revenues to BioSafe from this project are estimated at approximately $50 million plus expected annual CPI (1) (Characters Per Inch) The measurement of the density of characters per inch on tape or paper. BioSafe currently operates the 28-acre landfill in Fairhaven, Mass., the largest landfill remodeling project in the world. BioSafe has agreements to remodel a 26-acre landfill in South Hadley South Hadley, residential town (1990 pop. 16,685), Hampshire co., W Mass., on the Connecticut River near the Holyoke Range; settled 1684, inc. 1775. Its paper industry dates from the early 19th cent.  Mass., as well as a 10-acre landfill in Buckland, Mass. BioSafe also owns an 80 percent interest in a 200-acre Vermont landfill. BioSafe expects to begin receiving revenues from these three projects in 1996. Additionally, BioSafe has signed a purchase and sale agreement to purchase a 500-acre landfill in Rushville, Penn. Revenues from this project are expected in mid 1997.

Through landfill remodeling, BioSafe creates new space within the existing landfill footprint by reprocessing Reprocessing may refer to:

 the landfill -- separating and storing the soil for reuse, extracting useable materials including wood, rocks and scrap steel, shredding and compacting the remaining waste, and then returning it to the landfill. BioSafe can often recover between 50 percent and 80 percent of the previously used space.
