BioPassword Drives Keystroke Dynamics Standards Development; American National Standards Institute Approves Project to Develop a Keystroke Dynamic Data Interchange Format.

SEATTLE -- BioPassword, Inc., the only software company providing secure access and anti-fraud solutions based on the behavioral biometric of keystroke dynamics, today announced that the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) has approved a project proposal to develop a biometric data interchange format for keystroke dynamics data. INCITS is the ANSI-accredited standards developer for the information technology industries. The proposal, driven by BioPassword, is expected to speed the adoption of keystroke dynamics, enabling enterprises and consumers to realize the benefits of authentication based on the unique way an individual types.

With the increasing use of behavioral biometrics for multi-factor authentication, industry standards will be needed to ensure conformity and easy integration. In the emerging category of keystroke dynamics, an approved standard will enable technology solutions to interchange data in an accurate manner, and to address application areas where proprietary solutions are unacceptable.

As a member of the M1 Committee and the only company currently developing authentication solutions based on keystroke dynamics, BioPassword has been integral to the development of the standard. BioPassword has written the initial draft of the standard and has submitted it for review and comment. The initial draft, M1/05-0303, was reviewed during the December M1 Committee meeting in Toronto, Canada, and is now open for additional contributions to be reviewed during the committee's March meeting with the anticipation of public review to follow.
