At the core of 3i are three powerful modules of Image Management, Image Processing image processing

Set of computational techniques for analyzing, enhancing, compressing, and reconstructing images. Its main components are importing, in which an image is captured through scanning or digital photography; analysis and manipulation of the image, accomplished
and Image Analysis, with built-in services for integration and collaboration. 3i is built on patented technologies from SIMS and TissueAnalytics platforms, from BioImagene's acquisitions of Scimagix and Tissue Informatics. The 3i architecture is optimized for acquiring, archiving, analysis, management, reporting and sharing of image data, for a seamless information flow.

3i helps develop imaging applications faster. It is scalable with open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced  used in the life sciences industry. The rich functionalities of the 3i Framework - Image Management, distributed Image Processing and Image analysis, reduce our application development time by a factor of five, for our pharmaceutical, and reference laboratory customers."

The Image Management module allows easy storage, search and retrieval of images and associated data. The distributed Image Processing module is a complete solution for processing large images based on pre defined protocols and report generation in customized formats. The Image Analysis module gives unprecedented speed for developing imaging algorithms for tissue and cell analysis. It comes equipped with over 30 algorithms.
