The BioITWorld Venture Summit announced today that they are accepting business plan submissions for the second life sciences venture summit. The summit, which will connect emerging life science companies with leading venture capitalists Venture Capitalist

An investor who provides capital to either start-up ventures or support small companies who wish to expand but do not have access to public funding.

 World Expo and hosted by Ernst & Young and IDG Ventures, the BioITWorld Venture Summit will address the venture capital landscape in the expanding Bio-IT market. A select number of companies will be accepted to present their business plans and will receive a variety of exclusive benefits to help accelerate the growth of their businesses.

Accepted companies will have the opportunity to:

-- Present business plans and network with venture capitalists with specific interest in early stage Bio-IT companies

-- Receive exclusive coaching, prior to the summit, on investor presentations from Ernst & Young and IDG Ventures

-- Obtain proprietary information on the latest industry trends and information from Ernst & Young, IDG Ventures and IDC

Information for Applicants

There is no cost associated with submitting a business plan. All plans must be received by October October: see month.  15. The BioITWorld Venture Summit Advisory Board will review applications and announce the winning finalists on October 22.

Companies accepted into the BioITWorld Venture Summit will be asked to pay a presentation fee of $1,200.00 prior to the Venture Summit. Business plans will only be reviewed by the members of the BioITWorld Venture Summit Advisory committee and will not be returned. Because plans cannot be considered confidential, we advise applicants to avoid including any proprietary information.

-- Your company is engaged in IT for life sciences and/or and/or  
conj.
Used to indicate that either or both of the items connected by it are involved.

Usage Note: And/or is widely used in legal and business writing.
 is a technology enabler for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.

-- You have received some initial funding either from angels or other early investors.

-- You are in the process of raising additional capital to grow your business.

-- You have a beta product or have a few initial customers.

-- Your company has an initial management team established.
