Dr. Sheldon Schuster, Director, Biotechnology Program of the University of Florida University of Florida is the third-largest university in the United States, with 50,912 students (as of Fall 2006) and has the eighth-largest budget (nearly $1.9 billion per year). UF is home to 16 colleges and more than 150 research centers and institutes.  and the Sid Martin Biotechnology Development Incubator and Dr. Dean Gabriel, President of Integrated Plant Genetics Inc. The event, "Food With A Twist: Biotechnology and the Future of Food" is hosted by BioFlorida, the state association serving the biosciences industries, in conjunction with the Broward Alliance, the Palm Beach Business Development Board and the Beacon Council. , is also a professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology molecular biology, scientific study of the molecular basis of life processes, including cellular respiration, excretion, and reproduction. The term molecular biology was coined in 1938 by Warren Weaver, then director of the natural sciences program at the Rockefeller  in the College of Medicine at UF. Schuster's research focuses on the mechanism of tumor drug resistance and new gene therapies and gene targeting methods.
